Check your previous posts, several of us have already posted that you can get free software off the net that will let you partition your current drive without ruining your current XP installation. WHile you are at it, if you have alot of data files to save and your hard drive is large enough you might want to create another partition and move all the data there. In a worst case scenario, if you botch the Vista or XP partitions your data will survive.

thank you but it would really help me if you put me in the right direction. i dont know where to find the program to use. i've been lookin for the past 3 hours i just dont know what program really works . so if anyone can again put me in the right direction and maybe break it down more barney style for me , it would really help me.
